The Successful Applicant

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: Area 2: All permanent and indefinite WYNG Title 5 and T32 DST employed with the Wyoming Air/Army National Guard. Area 3: All Current Federal employees within the Competitive and Excepted Service and Competitive Service Reinstatement Eligible employees. Former NG T32 Dual Status employees receiving an Honorable or a General Discharge under Honorable Conditions are eligible for reinstatement provided they have been separated for at least one year before applying for reinstatement and received a rating of record of their most recent permanent position of a least fully successful (or equivalent). Area 4: All currently assigned Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) and MDay/Drill Status Guard (DSG) members of the Wyoming Air/Army NG. Currently serving and former NG Drill Status and MDay soldiers and airmen of the WYNG are provided preference eligibility to compete for NG T5 positions. Veterans Preference Rules are mandated by law and some applicants may receive priority consideration before other applicants without veterans preference. Area 7: U.S. Citizens This is a Professional Series position IAW 5 USC 3319. Eligible candidates will be listed in score order including veterans preference points. If selected candidate is a competitive employee they will convert to Excepted Service and be required to sign a memorandum IAW 5 CFR 302.102. Acceptance of the proposed appointment will take the employee out of the competitive service while s/he occupies the position. Position : 1075482 Selecting Official: Col Gary Monroe In order to qualify must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience if qualifying based on education your transcripts will be required as part of your application. BASIC REQUIREMENT a. Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Include legible copies of all transcripts with application. b. Experience in clinical social work either through a masterslevel practicum or two years postMSW experience. c. Possession of an active (characterized by present activity participation practice or use) current (not revoked suspended or lapsed) valid and unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states the District of Columbia Puerto Rico or the U.S Virgin Islands which allows practice without supervision. Must include proof with application. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Must have at least 24 months in clinical social work assignments that may have included conducting individual and group psychotherapy and marriage and family counseling organizing managing and administering adult child and family prevention and outreach services interviewing clients to establish the nature and extent of concerns/issues providing professional assistance and determining appropriate referral services/opinions and in planning and implementing professional community organizational strategies and initiatives formulating of needs assessments development of prevention programs and marketing of developed programs. Completion of the Air Force Social Work Internship Program may be substituted for 12 months of the specialized experience requirement. Must include proof with application. This experience demonstrates particular competencies of knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Knowledge of social work theories principles techniques and resources. Must have specialized experience in professional social work that includes interviewing people to establish the nature and extent of their problems helping them workout plans for improving the situation providing assistance and services referring them to community resources and other organizations as indicated and assisting them to understand and modify their own patterns of behavior when appropriate. Must understand labor relations military operations and the Military Health System TRICARE and Veterans Administration as it pertains to the NG Psychological Health Program. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs) Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge skills abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Professional knowledge of social work practices principles and theories to develop and implement comprehensive primary and secondary prevention programs that address effective programs to prevent or lessen the impact of a wide range of psychosocial and environmental problems such as sociopathic personalities and family groups who react to their circumstances with impulsive behavior that may be selfdestructive or depredatory provide training for other health care professionals and other installation personnel on issues related to the promotion of psychological health coordinate programs and enlist the aid of community organizations/agencies. 2. Professional knowledge of complex helping systems and professional organizations how they positively or negatively affect individual and family welfare and the multiple ways these systems and organizations operate to deliver services. 3. Knowledge and experience in the organization management and administration of programs and services to participate in program planning and in the development and maintenance of public understanding and sound working relationships with local and community agencies. 4. Professional knowledge of a wide array of psychological problems and disorders that affect adults families and organizations and the varied resources needed to treat them. 5. Professional knowledge of problemsolving strategies and evidencebased treatments for a full range of psychiatric disorders to plan and provide shortterm problem resolution to clients or refer them appropriately for clinical treatment. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. PARTTIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or parttime work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. TIMEINGRADE: Any applicant who within the previous 52 weeks held a General Schedule position under nontemporary appointment must meet timeingrade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS11. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service.
