AND Basic Requirements: You must meet one of the basic requirements below to be eligible for the Social Science Program Coordinator Health WellBeing Coach GS0101. Degree: You must have successfully completed a bachelors degree or higher degree with a major study in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the Social Science Program Coordinator Health WellBeing Coach position. OR Combination of education and experience: You must have a combination of education and experience that provided you with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. You should possess a core of educational credit in behavioral science social science or a related discipline plus additional education and/or experience. The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that you possess the knowledge skills and abilities required to perform work in the Social Science Program Coordinator Health WellBeing Coach position and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4year course of study with a major in the appropriate field. Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title duties month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. OR Experience: You must have at least four (4) years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that you have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. AND In addition to the English Language Proficiency and meeting one of the Basic Requirements above to qualify for this position at the GS9 level you must meet one of the following: Experience: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS7) in the Federal Service that has given you the particular knowledge skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of a Social Science Program Coordinator Health WellBeing Coach and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes: Performing a variety of therapeutic and program related activities associated with assisting patients with identifying goals developing behavior plans and taking action steps to increase adherence to treatment for the purpose of enhancing wellness and assisting with the management of chronic disease Conducting ongoing sessions to assess progress and assist clients in navigating obstacles or challenges Conducting interventions for clients using oneonone couple or group modalities and Leading and conducting exercises for patients with chronic disease. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title duties month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. OR Education: Successfully completed two (2) years of progressively higherlevel graduate education leading to a masters degree or masters or equivalent graduate degree that provided the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the Social Science Program Coordinator Health WellBeing Coach position. Such education may include courses in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination: A combination of successfully completed graduate level education (beyond the first year) and specialized experience as described above which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. This education must provide the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the Social Science Program Coordinator Health WellBeing Coach position. Such education may include courses in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Customer Service Decision Making Manages and Organizes Information Veteran and Customer Focus IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 3540 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Parttime experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: Regular and recurring work is mostly sedentary involving sitting at a desk although the position requires the ability to move from geographic location of the facility to another. Some physical effort such as standing walking bending or prolonged sitting may be required. The work places no special physical demands on the employee. Work is performed in an office setting with occasional visits to areas within the service as well as throughout the Medical Center. Work area is adequately lighted heated and air conditioned. The normal risks and discomforts typical of an office and clerical work area are included. There are no unusual risks of safety hazards associated with this position.
