The Successful Applicant

BASIC REQUIREMENT: Four (4) years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that I have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field of the position. OR Successful completion of a full four (4) year course of study at an accredited college or university leading to a bachelors degree or higher with a major study in behavioral science social science or related disciplines appropriate to this position. The number of semester hours required to constitute a major field of study is the amount specified by the college or university attended. If this number cannot be obtained 24 semester hours will be considered as equivalent to a major field of study. OR A combination of education and experience that provided me with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field of the position. AND In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement above you must also meet one of the following additional requirements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS09 level in the Federal Service that equips you with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience may includes: advising educating and assisting with planning developing and implementing a newly developed program Performing data collection and analysis for assigned medical center programs experience using a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness conducting need assessments of employees to determine program needs and interests and managing program budget and responsible for purchasing a variety of products materials and goods used for promotional opportunities and activities. OR Successful completion of 3 years of progressively higherlevel graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in the related field of the position to be filled. The education portion must include courses that demonstrate the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation. OR An equivalent combination of successfully completed graduate level education (beyond the first 2 years) and specialized experience as described above to meet total experience requirements. The education portion must include graduate courses that demonstrate the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do to the work of this position. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Budget Administration Compliance Customer Service Project Management IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 3540 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Parttime experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: While some of the work is sedentary including researching writing program planning and data analysis the position will have periods of extensive walking and movement throughout the healthcare system prolonged standing and transporting light to medium weight objects. The Employee Whole Health coordinator will also be required to travel between sites (CBOCs and outlying clinics) encompassed in the healthcare system. The work is conducted in a medical center environment and involves risk of exposure to a variety of contagious diseases. The work area is adequately lighted heated air conditioned and ventilated.
