Provide course descriptions as necessary. This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled in any of the job series listed below. For the GS0101: Degree: Successful completion of a full 4year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelors or higher degree that included a major field of study in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. For the GS0401: Degree: biological sciences agriculture natural resource management chemistry or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major as shown above plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement you must also possess experience in the amounts listed below. For the GS12: You must have oneyear specialized experience equivalent to the GS11 in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include one or more of the following: Planned environmental resources projects such as construction production or reclamation activities and ensured compliance with environmental plans and stipulations Reviewed and critiqued natural resource shortrange plans and project work plans developed by local work units. Prepared responses to appeals objections and/or litigation on environmental project decisions Monitored project reviews to evaluate compliance with policies objectives and assess natural resource planning implementation and accomplishments and/or Assisted senior leaders exchange perspectives about land use and resource planning and Coordinated organization planning efforts with regional state city county or ad hoc citizen committees landuse planning efforts. For the GS13: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS12 in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include one or more of the following: Authoritative expert providing regional information for formulating policy standards and technical guidelines for natural resource analysis and documentation administrative review and litigation Directed longrange planning and decisionmaking in connection with prospective changes in natural resource functions and programs Reviewed and critiqued longrange plans and environmental analysis documents developed by other government entities or conservation/industry groups Leader of or a consultant to a management team in the preparation of environmental assessments and environmental impact statements that develops alternative landuse strategies and forecasts the benefits consequences and costs (opportunity resource and socioeconomic) in accordance with established goals Organized directed and evaluated program review and assistance trips to evaluate compliance with policies objectives and assess natural resource planning implementation and accomplishments and/or Led natural resource planning efforts and activities in concert with regional state city county or ad hoc citizen committee landuse planning efforts. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity you must meet timeingrade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
