The Successful Applicant
To qualify for this position applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement 05/11/2026. TimeInGrade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet timeingrade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS12. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF50 that shows your timeingrade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF50 has an effective date within the past year it may not clearly demonstrate you possess oneyear timeingrade as required by the announcement. In this instance you must provide an additional SF50 that clearly demonstrates oneyear timeingrade. Individual Occupational Requirement: The IOR is a basic requirement that must be met by every applicant in order to qualify for entry into a Supervisory Social Science Program Coordinator 0101 series and is something that cannot be waived. To qualify for this occupational series you must possess one of the following: 1. Degree in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED) OR 2. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED) OR 3. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Specialized Experience: In addition to meeting the Individual Occupational Requirement you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade that has equipped you with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. In order to meet the minimum qualifications for this position you must meet 5 of 7 of the following examples of specialized experience: Evaluating the performance of supervisors and reviewing/ approving performance evaluations of their subordinates. Making recommendations for personnel actions including awards performance improvement and discipline. Identifying assigning and planning work to be carried out by the supervisors of the department to ensure deadlines for performance appraisals and implementation of policies are met. Addressing unacceptable behaviors and performance appropriately and timely. Taking action regarding conduct issues to include review of verbal and written counselings development and recommendations for reprimands and admonishments. Developing and implementing appropriate performance improvement plans and rating plans used by subordinates two levels down. Utilizing analytical data reports to help determine short and longrange scheduling or staffing requirements and implementing change as needed to ensure appropriate coverage. Developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures for the department. Performing safety reviews and reporting information to leadership. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Communication Technical Competence Problem Solving Organizational Awareness Leadership Decisiveness Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religions spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 3540 hours of work per week. Parttime experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Work is performed while sitting at a desk at conferences briefings meetings in classrooms and the equivalent. The work is primarily sedentary but may require prolonged standing in front of groups. Must work multiple projects simultaneously and handle occasional high levels of stress and conflicting priorities. Work also involves travel and may include prolonged standing walking and transport of instructional supplies and/or equipment in excess of 30 lbs.
