The Successful Applicant
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including timeingrade restrictions specialized experience and/or education as defined below. Time in grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet timeingrade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. Basic Requirements for GS0101 Degree: behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Basic Requirements for GS0401 Degree: biological sciences agriculture natural resource management chemistry or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major as shown in A above plus appropriate experience or additional education AND In addition to the basic requirement above all applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications: Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS15 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience providing direction and leadership to food and agricultural science programs related to biological sciences agriculture natural resource management youth development 4H family and consumer sciences or rural development formulating program policies to enhance agriculturerelated sciences coordinating with various stakeholders in the performance of agricultural research extension and education activities administering a program of land grants and evaluating programs to improve administration and efficacy of research education and extension. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
