The Successful Applicant

To qualify for this position applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement 05/31/2024. TimeInGrade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet timeingrade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a (GS08) position you must have served 52 weeks at the (GS07). The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF50 that shows your timeingrade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF50 has an effective date within the past year it may not clearly demonstrate you possess oneyear timeingrade as required by the announcement. In this instance you must provide an additional SF50 that clearly demonstrates oneyear timeingrade. Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) (required for positions GS4 and above): This position includes an Individual Occupation Requirement. Applicants who do not meet it are ineligible for further consideration. Evidence of the Individual Occupation Requirements must be reflected in your application. Examples of Experience required Include: Group leader in community or residential recreation or training programs. Counselor in a youth summer camp. Instructor in a training program for the development of job skills. Work that demonstrated the ability to be responsible for and to lead and train members of a job crew. Group activities leader in the Armed Services. Unit leadermonitorproctor for a dormitory group in a boarding school or other residential facility. Aid or assistant to professional or specialist staff in such fields as personnel (private or government) employment guidance in a vocational or academic institution social service or manpower development. Aid or assistant to professional or associate staff engaged in work of a social services nature in private public welfare government program or community organizations or in voluntary activities. Aid or assistant to professional or specialist staff working with individuals who are addicted to or abuse alcohol and/or drugs. AND Specialized Experience (GS08): As well as meeting the IOR above applicants must also possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS7). You may qualify based on your experience as described below. Examples of specialized experience would include but are not limited to: Providing emergency mental health and suicide prevention support services in a call center environment. Demonstrated communication leadership and supervisory skills to direct a team. Developing internal and external resource/reference material. Applying analytical skills to review and report on program data and trends to recommend improvements. Detailed knowledge of an extensive body of rules policies and procedures related to crisis hotlines. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Communications Information Management Leadership Organizational Awareness Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religions spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 3540 hours of work per week. Parttime experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary typically work is accomplished in an office type setting. However there may be some walking standing bending and carrying on light items. Work Environment: Environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precaution typical for an office meeting room or training center. A work area is adequately lighted heated cooled and ventilated.
