The Successful Applicant

To qualify for this position you must meet the following requirements: Basic Requirement: Applicants must meet at least one of the following Basic Requirements: A. Bachelors degree (or higher) with a major in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Transcript Required) OR B. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Transcript Required and resume must demonstrate clear details of experience) OR C. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Resume must demonstrate clear details of experience) SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR (SCREENOUT) A Selective Placement Factor (SPF) has been identified for this position. Selective Placement Factors (SPF) are a prerequisite to appointment and represent minimum requirements for the position. Applicants who do not meet the SPF are ineligible for further consideration. The SPF for this position is: Requires experience utilizing Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) data. In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement and Selective Placement Factor applicants must meet at least one of the following Minimum Qualification Requirements: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS11 grade level in the Federal service that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes leading/overseeing individuals teams or groups experience working in health services research epidemiology health economics or research methods utilizing computer language such as SAS or SQL to analyze and manage data demonstrating technical writing skills (data documentation presentations) and analyzing healthcare data. (Resume(s) must clearly support the duties and experience required for this position. We will not make assumptions regarding experience.) OR Graduate Education: Applicants may substitute the specialized experience with education if they possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree that provided the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do the work. OR Combination of Graduate Education and Specialized Experience: A combination of successfully completed graduatelevel education (beyond the second year) and specialized experience as described above may meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Analytical Thinking Data Management Education and Training Writing IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 3540 hours of work per week. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However there may be some walking standing bending carrying of light items such as papers books or small parts. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. The work frequently requires long periods of concentrated mental effort. The work may involve some air and local travel (02 events/year) for the purpose of obtaining firsthand information training and presentation of research results.
