The Successful Applicant
Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Noncitizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education. Have a masters degree in work work from a school of work work fully accredited by the Council on work Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of work work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of work Work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in work work may not be substituted for the masters degree in work work. (Copies for transcripts must be provided with application) Licensure. Persons hired or reassigned to work worker positions in the GS0185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice work work at the masters degree level. (Copies of License and Certification must be submitted with application) Grade Determinations: Supervisory work Worker GS12: One (1) year of experience equivalent to the GS11 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in a specialty area or in administration demonstrating progressively more professional competency and judgment. Candidate may have certification or other postmasters degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience. Licensure/Certification: Individuals assigned as Supervisory work Workers must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Demonstrated Knowledge Skills and Abilities. In addition to the experience above the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs: Ability to independently organize work set priorities and meet multiple deadlines. Knowledge of supervisory duties which includes clinical supervision consultation negotiation with other departments and quality improvement. Ability to provide staff training and development. Ability to ensure provision of clinical work work services. Ability to provide staff training and development. Skill in interpersonal relationships in dealing with employees team leaders and managers. Assignment: For all assignments above the full performance level the higherlevel duties must consist of significant scope complexity (difficulty) and variety and be performed by the incumbent at least 25 of the time. At the GS12 grade level supervisory work workers typically have significant personnel management responsibilities for a small to moderate sized professional and nonprofessional staff including support staff and professional staff at the GS12 grade level and below. The supervisory work worker is responsible for the professional and administrative management of an area in a work work service in a care/product line or multiple facilities. They provide direct clinical services with or without program coordination responsibilities. Physical Requirements: Physical demands of the work are generally minor and sedentary in nature but may require occasional travel. Physical activity involves sitting standing walking bending stooping climbing stairs and carrying light items such as papers books or other supplies. The incumbent uses a computer and standard office equipment to complete tasks. The emotional demands can be stressful working with the Veteran population and their families/caregivers. A level of selfawareness is essential.
