Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience if qualifying based on education your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirements for Supervisory Social Worker (Family Advocacy): Degree: Masters degree (or higher degree) in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Experience required: To qualify based on your experience your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience in a family advocacy environment assessing incidents of abuse providing therapy to abusers or victims developing behavioral health treatment plans and providing administrative and/or technical oversight to staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS12). Selective Placement Factor: This position requires 2 years of experience working in the field of child abuse and domestic abuse. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. Licensure: A current active valid unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently offered by a U.S. State District of Columbia commonwealth territory or jurisdiction. This position may be scheduled to transfer to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at a date to be determined in accordance with the provisions of Section 702 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 Public Law 114328. The Act directed the DHA to take responsibility for the administration (i.e. authority direction and control) of military treatment facilities beginning 1 Oct 18.
