In order to qualify you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience if qualifying based on education your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS12 grade level in the Federal service which includes managing and coordinating a medical or nonmedical counseling program or service on a military installation. Specialized program experience includes the full range of prevention community education and screening assessments and confidential nonmedical counseling services. Possesses liaison experience with other Federal agencies and/or with State or local community services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS12). Basic Education Requirement: Candidates must have a masters degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the masters degree in social work. Verification of the degree can be made by going to http://www.cswe.org/Accreditation to verify that the social work degree meets the accreditation standards for a Master of Social Work. Licensure/Certification: When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination candidates for credentialing must have achieved a passing score on that examination. Incumbent must sustain current competency to practice at the independent (TIER III) level. This position complies with requirements of Public Law 101647 Section 231(Crime Control Act of 1990) DoDI 1402.05 and for nonappropriated fund Army Regulation (AR) 2153. Tier III (Clinical Practitioner) requirements with certification in supervision. Government civilian providers must meet all applicable credentialing requirements IAW guidelines and be fully qualified to perform within the scope of their practice. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Educational Service Programs Technical Competence Communications and Media Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS12).
