AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): This is a Title 5 Excepted Service position under the authority of Title V P.L. 114328 Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA) and is open to US citizens interested in helping the Department of the Airforce meet our mission requirements. OPEN TO AREAS OF CONSIDERATION (AOC) 1 2 ONLY WITH PRIORITY GIVEN TO AOC 1. Area 1: Current employees (Tenure 1 and 2 / internal to the Agency) Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1. Area 2: All other applicants (external to the Agency) Applicants who meet one of the DoD Priority Placement Program categories below are eligible to apply with this preference. (See Required Documents section) Priority Placement Program DoD Military Reserve (MR) and National Guard (NG) Technician Eligible Priority Placement Program DoD MR and NG Preference Eligible Tech Receiving Disability Retirement Priority Placement Program DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) Eligible Priority Placement Program DoD Retained Grade GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of social work theories principles techniques and resources is mandatory. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Use the National Guard position description to determine specialized experience education or training required for the work in the position in this series. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT NOTES: 1. Masters in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is highly desired. Other mental health degrees and training as identified in AFI 44119 (Medical Quality Operations) are acceptable. Candidate must be a fully qualified Mental Health professional IAW AFI 44119. 2. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. 3. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. 4. Selective Placement Factor: Possess a current unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states the District of Columbia Puerto Rico or the U.S Virgin Islands. 5. Must be privileged for independent practice by the Credentials Committee at the employing Medical Treatment Facility .6. A minimum of two (2) years within the past five (5) years in the independent practice of clinical social work is highly desired. 7. Position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) in accordance with local MDG policies. Must be obtained with 6 months of onboarding. 8. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. 9. Incumbent may share oncall duty during weeknights and/or weekends on a rotational basis as required consistent with other mental health professionals of the same specialty performing like duties. 10. This position may be identified as having regular contact with children requiring a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for the position. 11. Completion of appropriate clinical and administrative duties may involve after hours care or work in addition to regular duty hours. 12. Must be able to obtain and maintain privileging for the DOD/AFMS/ANGMS IAW DHA PM 602513 Vol 4 and DAFMAN 44119. Must maintain credentials requirements at all times (i.e. current and unrestricted state license BLS clinical competencies etc.) IAW DHA PM 602513 Vol 4 and DAFMAN 44119. 6/14/2022 TCPC Cramner. 13. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for or in response to a state emergency or disaster declaration. Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance by the National Guard Director of Manpower and Personnel (NGBJ1)
