The Successful Applicant

This position is a TIER THREE clinical care practitioner. Applicants must meet all of the following requirements as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.8: Minimum qualifications of clinical providers functioning within this threetier system are below:a. Tier I (Clinical Provider). All individuals providing clinical services must meet basic qualifications in order to provide clinical services in FFSP or MCCS. Minimum educational qualifications require one of the following:(1) Masters degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs or an equivalent degree.(2) Masters degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education or an equivalent degree.(3) Masters degree in Social Work from a graduate school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or an equivalent degree.(4) Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a 1year APA accredited clinical internship.b. Tier II (Clinical Practitioner) requirements include:(1) Minimum educational qualifications for Tier I clinical providers.(2) Licensure/certification by a state or U.S. territory that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling Marriage and Family Therapy Clinical Social Work Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology. SECNAVINST 1754.8 23 Mar 2021 3 Enclosure (2)(3) When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination candidates for privileging must have achieved a passing score on that examination.(4) Must have engaged in two years fulltime post1masters supervised clinical experience.c. Tier III (Clinical Practitioner clinical supervisor eligible). The clinical practitioner eligible to provide clinical supervision shall meet the following requirements:(1) All criteria required for Tier II clinical practitioners.(2) Two years fulltime clinical experience post independent licensure or certification. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Evaluating treatment programs to address the variety of clinical issues with the scope of command services to ensure compliance with federal and state law 2) Assessing individual and family needs to establish treatment plans with behaviorally specific goals and objectives 3) Identifying crisis situations presenting danger of physical abuse to family members increased risk of further family violence through clinical assessment to provide crisis intervention and safety planning and 4) Evaluating clinical counseling and family advocacy services to ensure services are conducted in accordance with regulations and policies.
