The Successful Applicant

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience if qualifying based on education your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Basic Education Requirements: I have a masters degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts). In addition to meeting the basic requirement above to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized experience: I have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS09 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing crisis intervention risk and clinical assessments case management command consultation and administrative tasks to prevent and treat child and spouse/intimate partner abuse and providing counseling and developing treatment plans or recommendations serving various beneficiary groups scattered over a large geographical area. OR Education: I have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university that is directly related to the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: I have some specialized experience as described in A but less than one year and I have more than two years of graduate level education but less than three years of graduatelevel education as described in B. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet and the total is at least I 00. (To compute the percentage divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of36 hours (total semesters hours minus 36) by I 8. Add the two percentages.
