The Successful Applicant
To qualify for this position applicant(s) must meet the following qualifications: ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. You must be proficient in basic written and spoken English in order to meet the requirements of this position. BASIC REQUIREMENT: Applicant(s) must meet one of the basic requirements below to be eligible for the Social Science Program Coordinator Whole Health Coach GS0101 position. A bachelors degree or higher in behavioral or social science or in a related discipline that is appropriate to the work of this position. Transcripts required. OR A combination of education and experience that provided you with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit and transcripts required. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates that you have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. AND in addition to meeting the Basic Requirement and English Language proficiency applicant(s) must also meet one of the following: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position and that is typically in or related to the position. To be creditable specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS07 grade level in Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include providing supportive care to clients individually or in groups using a selfdirected approach providing interventions that promote health and wellness enhance wellbeing and improve quality of life determining patient goals to develop and implement treatment plans assessing patient progress and adjusting plans as necessary. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. OR EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: A masters degree equivalent graduate degree or 2 years of progressively higherlevel graduate education leading to such a degree that provided the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do the work. One year of fulltime graduate education is the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of fulltime study. If that number cannot be obtained from the school 18 semester hours should be considered an academic year of graduate study. Parttime graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of fulltime study at the school attended. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of specialized experience and progressively higherlevel graduate education as described that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position. Experience must be detailed in your resume and transcripts required. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Administration and Management Customer Service Interpersonal Skills Planning and Evaluating IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 3540 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Parttime experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: Regular and recurring work is mostly sedentary although the position requires the ability to move from one geographic location of the facility to another. Some physical effort such as standing walking bending or prolonged sitting may be required. The work places no special physical demands on the employee.
