The Successful Applicant

To qualify for this position your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Social Work Series 0185 (opm.gov) In addition to the Basic Requirements you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS9: 1 year of specialized experience that has equipped me with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS07 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples Include: provide basic assessment diagnose and treat a range of psychiatric illnesses identify and assess psychosocial functioning understand and respond to medical treatment provide therapeutic intervention to improve wellness provide intensive case management services to include liaison consultation and teaching relationships to multidisciplinary team provide referral services and counseling to all age groups. OR 2 full years of progressively higherlevel graduate education leading to a masters degree or a masters degree in social work. OR a combination of experience and graduate education that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for GS09 grade level. GS11: 1 year of specialized experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position.This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS09 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples include: collaborate with other health professionals to assess client needs refer patients to community resources provide individual or group counseling coordinate care with expert diagnostic and treatment consultation to medical providers assess inpatient needs and patient discharge planning provide therapy to all age groups utilizing a variety of accepted treatment techniques develop treatment plans provide interventions surrounding drug alcohol cooccurring disorders and crisis intervention to potentially lifethreatening emergencies. OR successfully completed three years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree. OR a combination of education and specialized experience as defined in the vacancy announcement that when combined fully meets the minimum qualifications for this position. AND Selective Placement Factor: I have a current unrestricted license U.S. State license as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) a Certified Independent Social Worker (CISW). Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the TimeInGrade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. TimeInGrade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
