The Successful Applicant

Experience requirements: GS 6: Specialized Experience: Possess one (1) year of specialized experience equipped with the knowledge skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the Social Services Representative position. To be creditable this experience must be equivalent to the next lower grade level in federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in a program of direct social welfare services that required the application of program policy and operations knowledge in providing social welfare services and/or assisting social workers. (This experience must be documented in resume) ORGS 6: Education: Completed six (6) months of graduate education with a major study in social sciences. (Transcripts Required) ORGS 6: Combination of Education and Experience: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduated education and specialized experience as described above may be used to meet total qualification requirements. (Transcripts Required) GS 7: Specialized Experience: Possess one (1) year of specialized experience equipped with the knowledge skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the Social Services Representative position. To be creditable this experience must be equivalent to the next lower grade level in federal service. In addition to meeting the specialized experience referenced above at the GS 6 you may also have the following specialized experience: possessing skills in performing incoming and outgoing calls in a call center to assess caller needs and recommend services possessing working experience interacting with clinicians patients and their families possessing the ability to work with and communicate with a variety of clinicians including primary care providers and mental health providers. (This experience must be documented in resume) ORGS 7: Education: Completed one (1) full academic year of graduate level education with a major study in social sciences. This education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. (Transcripts Required) ORGS 7: Combination of Education and Experience: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduated education and specialized experience as described above that may be used to meet total qualification requirements. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Parttime experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
