The Successful Applicant

To qualify for this position your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Degree: Social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the masters degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to the Basic Requirements you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS11: Three (3) years of progressively higherlevel graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS09 level. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS09 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples include: Responsible for cases that represent a wide range of biopsychosocial problems with no limitations as to the difficulty of services to be performed. Assist patients and families in identifying and finding solutions to social and emotional problems related to health and mental health care. Assess treatment goals interpret case histories develop measurable and obtainable individualized treatment plans and provides independent decisions advocacy and recommendations for patients continuity in care. Prepares reports regarding caseload for evaluation of program and prepares summary of services rendered. GS12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS11 level. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS11 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples Include: Responsible for cases that represent a wide range of biopsychosocial problems with no limitations as to the difficulty of services to be performed. Assist patients and families in identifying and finding solutions to social and emotional problems related to health and mental health care. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Incumbent must possess a current valid unrestricted license U.S. State license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a Licensed Medical Social Worker (LMSW).
