The Successful Applicant

In addition to the basic entry education requirements you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below: To qualify for the Research GS11 level you must have one of the following: 1 year of fulltime specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS09 level defined as participating in quantitative or qualitative experiments related to human or environmental health and communicating experimental findings or results to others masters or equivalent graduate degree the education must be directly related and provide the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position OR equivalent combination of education and experience. To qualify for the Research GS12 level you must have one of the following: 1 year of fulltime specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS11 level defined as participating in quantitative or qualitative experiments related to human or environmental health participating as a team member in evidencebuilding activities and communicating experimental findings or results to others Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree the education must be directly related and provide the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
