For a GS7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS6. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF50 that shows your timeingrade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF50 has an effective date within the past year it may not clearly demonstrate you possess oneyear timeingrade as required by the announcement. Basic Requirements: The basic requirements that must be met in order to qualify for entry into this job series and it is something that cant be waived. (Note: In addition to the Basic Requirements applicants MUST also meet the Specialized Experience.) For the Social Science Program Coordinator position is: Degree: successfully completion of a full 4year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelors or higher degree that included a major field of study or specific course requirements in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates you have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. This experience must must include one year of specialized experience. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Twenty four semester hours will be considered as equivalent to a major field of study from an accredited college or university. Creditable experience should demonstrate appropriate skills or abilities needed to perform the work of the Social Science Program Coordinator position. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:GS07 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: determining ways to improve customer satisfaction by utilizing knowledge of the issues program goals and objectives work processes and administrative operations of the organization utilizing interpersonal skills to communicate and present recommendations that improve patient services and providing information and advocating for an individuals personal health goals and plan and sharing goals with clinical care team by partnering with individual in completing a Personal Health Inventory and exploring aspects of a Personal Health Plan in group and individual settings. OREducation: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have one year of graduatelevel education or superior academic achievement. (Transcript required). Superior academic achievement: provision a is to be used to determine eligibility for applicable GS7 level positions of persons who have completed (or expect to complete within 9 months) all the requirements for a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Senior students can apply for positions prior to graduation and be considered for a GS7 appointment based on their grades at the time of application. S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing (2) gradepoint average or (3) honor society membership. OR Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and education as described above. GS09 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: assisting individuals in getting additional support or care when that is required as well as navigate the personalized health inventory personalized health planning components of health and wellbeing existing VHA and community resources that support of the individuals personalized health goals and other health and wellbeing programs available at a facility or in the community to support their personal health plans informing individuals about community and mutual supports and how to use these to support health and wellbeing goals and assisting the individual in exploring options for participating in individual or group programs to explore the following core elements: Exploration of What Matters SelfAssessment using Components of Health and Wellbeing/COH Set goals/ actions identify support/followup. OREducation: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a masters degree or masters or equivalent graduate degree. (Transcript required). ORCombination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education as described above. InterventionOral CommunicationTeaching Others Note: A full year of work is considered to be 3540 hours of work per week. Parttime experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Regular and recurring work is mostly sedentary involving sitting at a desk although the position requires the ability to move from one geographic location of the facility to another. Some physical eff ort such as standing walking bending or prolonged sitting may be required.
