All requirements for this position must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Noncitizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education: Must possess a Masters degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Licensure: Must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the masters degree level. English Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in written and spoken English to be appointed. Grade Determinations: Supervisory Social Worker GS12 Experience/Education: One year of experience equivalent to the GS11 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in a specialty area or in administration demonstrating progressively more professional competency and judgment. Candidate may have certification or other postmasters degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience. Licensure/Certification. Individuals assigned as Supervisory Social Workers must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Demonstrated Knowledge Skills and Abilities. In addition to the experience above the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs: Ability to independently organize work set priorities and meet multiple deadlines. Knowledge of supervisory duties which includes clinical supervision consultation negotiation with other departments and quality improvement. Ability to ensure provision of clinical social work services. Ability to provide staff training and development. Skill in interpersonal relationships in dealing with employees team leaders and managers. References: VA HANDBOOK 5005/120 PART II APPENDIX G39 Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary and nonstrenuous and is carried out within the confines of the office/workspace provided. A significant amount of walking throughout the health care system can be anticipated to facilitate face to face contact with veterans family members and medical center staff. Some travel to other St. Cloud VA Health Care System facilities and outlying clinics community agencies and referral/resource services would be anticipated. Use of a government vehicle will be in accordance with VA policy and upon initial and annual completion of any necessary requirements to operate a government vehicle to include holding a valid drivers license. Incumbent must be functionally able to use the computer with or without accommodations. Eyesight must be correctable and ability to hear with or without aid is required. Incumbent must be emotionally and mentally stable to perform daily duties
