The Successful Applicant

To qualify for this position your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Individual Occupational Requirements Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the masters degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to the Basic Requirements you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications for GS11: 3 3 years of progressively higher level graduate Education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 1 Year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS09 Grade Level. Specialized Experience is defined as experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples include: Collaborating with other health professionals to assess client needs referring patients to community resources providing individual or group counseling coordinating care with expert diagnostic and treatment consultation to medical providers assessing inpatient needs and patient discharge planning providing therapy to all age groups utilizing a variety of accepted treatment techniques developing treatment plans providing interventions surrounding drug alcohol cooccurring disorders and crisis intervention to potentially lifethreatening emergencies. Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a current unrestricted U.S. State license as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a Certified Independent Social Worker (CISW).
