Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Social Worker (Family Advocacy) GS018512: Degree: Masters degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience for Social Worker (Family Advocacy) GS018512: To qualify based on your work experience your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: identifying local and national trends in family violence prevention and treatment to make adjustments in the administration Family Programs developing and publicizing information about the seriousness of child and spouse maltreatment advising on procedures for reporting all incidents of child or spouse maltreatment and promoting and developing the organization Family Programs by establishing and maintaining contact with State and Local government and civilian sector educational and service organizations to ensure maximum of resources and services in the organizations area.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS11).
