To qualify for Social Science Research Analyst positions applicants must possess one of the following: A degree in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. NOTE: Transcripts are required to substantiate education OR A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. NOTE: Transcripts are required to substantiate education OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED TO SUBSTANTIATE POSSESSION OF QUALIFYING EDUCATION. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or preaccredited institutions. Qualification standards and additional information for this position can be found here: Social Science Research Analyst Qualification Standards In addition to the requirements listed above applicants must qualify for the posted grade level(s). To qualify for the GS11 applicants must also possess one of the following: A Masters or equivalent graduate degree in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. NOTE: Transcripts are required to substantiate education OR 52 weeks of specialized experience at the Federal GS9 level or equivalent which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience must include at least two of the following: (a) analyzing survey or administrative data using a statistical software package such as SAS Stata Python or R (b) analyzing the effects of policies on income work or economic wellbeing measures (c) producing written research products for academic or general audiences (d) conducting quantitative or qualitative research on communities or populations served by government income or health programs. In addition to the requirements listed above applicants must qualify for the posted grade level(s).To qualify for the GS12 applicants must also possess one of the following: A PH.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a behavioral or social science. NOTE: Transcripts are required to substantiate education OR Must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the Federal GS11 level or equivalent which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience must include at least three of the following:(a) analyzing survey or administrative data using a statistical software package such as SAS Stata Python or R (b) analyzing the effects of policies on income work or economic wellbeing measures (c) producing written research products for academic or general audiences (d) conducting quantitative or qualitative research on communities or populations served by government income or health programs.
