To qualify for this position applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement 12/14/2021. Individual Occupation Requirements (IOR)Basic Education Requirement: You must have successfully completed a full 4year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelors or higher degree that included a major field of study in behavioral or social science (or a related discipline appropriate to this position). Major field of study is considered to be 24 semester hours. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION.)OR Basic Experience Requirement: You possess four years of appropriate experience which demonstrates that you have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED BY YOUR RESUME TO BE CREDITABLE.)ORCombination of Education and Experience: You must possess a combination of education and experience as described above that provided you with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED BY YOUR RESUME TO BE CREDITABLE AND COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION.) TimeInGrade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet timeingrade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS07. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF50 that shows your timeingrade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF50 has an effective date within the past year it may not clearly demonstrate you possess oneyear timeingrade as required by the announcement. In this instance you must provide an additional SF50 that clearly demonstrates oneyear timeingrade. Note: TimeInGrade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. In addition to meeting one of the Basic IORs listed above you may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience for GS09: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: Specialized experience for this position includes experience working as a Whole Health Coach or in a similar natured position working with individuals and groups throughout the facility in a clientcentered process to facilitate and empower the client to develop and achieve selfdetermined goals related to health and wellness developing trust with patient and incorporating trust principles in daytoday activities providing patient and family members with information regarding lifestyle management including weight management nutrition exercise/fitness smoking cessation stress management etc. conducting interventions that lead to improved functioning decreased probability of deterioration or admission and enhanced quality of life and providing followup care through telephone clinics or secure messaging between facetoface appointments. OR Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have You must have successfully completed two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Masters degree or you must possess a Masters (or equivalent graduate) degree. This education is only qualifying if it provided the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do the work of this position as a Social Science Program Coordinator. One year of fulltime graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one year of fulltime study if that number cannot be obtained from the transcript 18 semester hours will be considered as one full academic year of graduate study. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION.).. OR Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond that which is required of the next lower grade level. For example: The position to be filled is a Management Analyst GS3439. An applicant has 6 months of specialized experience equivalent to GS7 and 1 year of graduate level education. The applicant meets 50 percent of the required experience but none of the required education since he or she does not have any graduate study beyond that which is required for GS7. Therefore the applicant meets only 50 percent of the total requirement and is not qualified for the position. (The applicants first year of graduate study is not qualifying for GS9.). (THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED BY YOUR RESUME TO BE CREDITABLE AND COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION.) You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:TeamworkTeaching OthersInterpersonal SkillsInformation ManagementEducation and Training Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religions spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 3540 hours of work per week. Parttime experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Regular and recurring work is mostly sedentary involving sitting at a desk although the position requires the ability to move from one geographic location of the facility to another. Some physical effort such as standing walking bending or prolonged sitting may be required. The work places no special physical demands on the employee. Work is performed in an office setting with occasional visits to areas within the service as well as throughout the Medical Center. Work area is adequately lighted heated and air conditioned. The normal risks and discomforts typical of an office and clerical work area are included.
