Education Qualification Requirement: In order to qualify for a Social Worker GS0185 position you must have a Masters Degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Additional Qualifications Requirements: A. In addition in order to qualify for a Social WorkerGS0185 at the GS09 level you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS07 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following types of tasks: conducting interviews with social service clients relatives caregivers and others to obtain pertinent information to be incorporated in the social case history as background for planning developing initial tentative conclusions as to appropriate social services for individuals or families giving information to social service clients answering factual questions and giving explanations and interpretations of agency social service policies and procedures that concern the clients. OR B. Completion of two (2) years of progressively higherlevel graduate education leading to a masters degree or equivalent graduate degree that is directly related to the duties of this position. OR C. A combination of postgraduate education and experience that meets 100 of the qualification requirements for this position. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position including experience gained in religious civic welfare service and organizational activities regardless of whether you received pay.
