The Successful Applicant

Individual Occupational Requirement for the Social Science Series (101): Degree: behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. or Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. or Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. At The GS12: You qualify at the GS12 level if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following types of tasks: performing policy analysis functions involving human research protection issues collecting and compiling data needed to support studies and analyses of social and behavioral science program and policy issues preparing reports or other written documents to communicate information on science policy issues and serving on committees or workgroups to resolve policy issues involving biomedical or clinical research programs. At The GS13: You qualify at the GS13 level if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following types of tasks: identifying research priorities for social and behavioral science for human research protection planning and conducting analyses of social and behavioral science program and policy issues interpreting scientific data to communicate information on social and behavioral science policy issues and representing an organization on committees and workgroups to resolve social and behavioral science policy issues involving biomedical and clinical research programs on mental health. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position including experience gained in religious civic welfare service and organizational activities regardless of whether you received pay.
