In the event of a crisis situation the incumbent or designated alternate must continue to perform the EmergencyEssential duties until relieved by proper authority. The incumbent or the designated alternate may be required to take part in readiness exercises. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively. This meets the criteria of an EmergencyEssential position and requires that the incumbent or the designated alternate be removed from any military recall status. Employee must sign DD Form 2365 as a condition of employment. This is a MissionEssential position performing a MissionCritical Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions. May be required to drive a motor vehicle. A valid drivers license is required for the position. Qualifications: In order to qualify you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions Professional and Scientific Positions Social Work Series 0185 IOR. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Must fulfill all of the requirements for the Masters Degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: providing psychosocial diagnosis and assessment treatment for condition(s) through social case work and individual group family or marital therapy Select administer and interpret instruments to support diagnosis and assessment of patients Provide consultation to installation leadership and medical professionals for clinical intervention requirements and psychosocial aspects of atrisk families use advanced concepts principles procedures practices professional knowledge and sound judgment executing the clinical social work component. FEDERAL TIMEINGRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable timeingrade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS11 level is required to meet the timeingrade requirements for the GS12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet timeingrade requirements. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge skills abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Professional knowledge of social work practices principles theories and administrative requirements to be able to apply them in a clinical or occupational setting. Professional knowledge of evidencebased treatments for a full range of psychiatric disorders to plan and provide treatment to patients. Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) of the American Psychiatric Association to evaluate psychiatric disorders and apply professional diagnostic skills. Knowledge of military organizations and culture and the unique stressors upon workers in an operational military workplace. PARTTIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or parttime work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
