The Successful Applicant
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing counseling treatment education and awareness to military personnel and their families in the areas of domestic violence family dynamics parenting stress and family strengths AND provide liaison/consultation services to strengthen relationships with federal and nongovernment agencies. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. This position is a TIER THREE clinical care provider. Applicants must meet all of the following requirements as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.7A: State or U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner. When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination candidates for privileging must have achieved a passing score on that examination. Possess at least a masters degree in one of following clinical fields (You MUST submit an official or unofficial transcript): Marriage and Family Therapy from a program accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education or an equivalent degree OR Social Work from a school accredited by Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree OR Psychology from a doctoral program approved by the American Psychological Association (APA). OR Counseling from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) or an equivalent degree. Have engaged in 2 years that includes at least 2000 hours fulltime postmasters supervised clinical experience (Experience MUST be substantiated in your resume). Two years post licensure that includes at least 2000 hours post licensure or 4000 hours post graduate degree fulltime clinical experience in a clinical setting (Experience MUST be substantiated in your resume). REQUIRED CERTIFICATION OR LICENSES: Advocacy Clinical Counselor GS010111: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) orLicensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) orLicensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Psychologist/GS018011: LCSW or LMFT or LPC or LMHC Social Worker/GS018511: LCSW A copy of your license/certificate MUST be submitted with your resume.
