The Successful Applicant

Basic Education Requirement: You must possess a masters degree or higher doctorate degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. License Requirement: You must possess a valid and current professional unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states the District of Columbia Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands. (License must be submitted at time of application.) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: To qualify for this position your resume must reflect sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position for which you are applying. Your resume is key in evaluating your experience as it relates to this position. Therefore we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your work experience. TimeInGrade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet timeingrade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS11 Level. An SF50 that shows your timeingrade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note: TimeInGrade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS11 in the Federal service in the normal line of progression for the occupation Social Worker in an organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: providing consultation to operational leadership on psychological health issues performing clinical and administrative duties with regards to outreach education and prevention needsbased and psychological assessments diagnosis and shortterm problem resolution conducting routine and crisis evaluations psychodiagnostic assessments and evidencebased problem resolution strategies and services preparing written evaluation reports clinical intake interviews with clients to include social assessments performing fitness for duty assessments and developing prevention and community outreach and education programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS11 grade/level position or equivalent in the federal service.
