The Successful Applicant

To qualify for this position applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement 11/21/2022.Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship. Education. Possess a masters degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the masters degree in social work. For grades below or at the full performance level VHA social workers who are not licensed or certified at the time of appointment must become licensed or certified at the independent masters level within 3 years of their appointment as a social worker. Licensure. Possess a full and unrestricted license or certification by a state to independently practice social work at the masters degree level. English Language Proficiency. Social workers must be proficient in spoken and written English. Preferred Experience: At least one year of experience working in the HUD/VASH Program.Grade Determinations:Social Worker (Program Coordinator) GS12Education and Experience. One year of experience equivalent to the GS11 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in a specialty area or in administration demonstrating progressively more professional competency and judgment. Candidate may have certification or other postmasters degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience. Licensure/Certification. Individuals assigned as Supervisory Social Workers must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level and must be able to provide supervision for licensure.Demonstrated Knowledge Skills and Abilities. In addition to the experience above the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs: Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation negotiation and monitoring. Knowledge and ability to write policies procedures and/or practice guidelines for the program. Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program. Skill in organizing work setting priorities meeting multiple deadlines and evaluating assigned program area(s). Ability to provide training orientation and guidance within clinical practice. Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this position involve active listening reading observing and evaluating verbal and nonverbal behavior walking climbing stairs speaking writing reports writing policies and procedures writing clinical notes using office equipment such as computers telephones fax machines photocopy machines and driving throughout the VISN. Incumbent will be asked to transport patients in GSA vehicles and just meet DOT physical qualifications in accordance with 49 CFR 391.41facility requirements for drivers in accordance with established policy. Strenuous physical activity is not required.
