BASIC REQUIREMENT FOR SOCIAL WORKER: You must meet one of the following to meet the Basic Requirement for this Social Worker position: Bachelors degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science or a degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position such as Social Work or Behavioral Science. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of education and experience that provided me with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates that I have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above to qualify for this position you must also meet one of the qualification requirements listed below: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS09 grade level in the Federal service which includes providing social work services to new parents by making site visits and evaluating if there are any risk factors that needs to be address initiating and effecting changes and coordinating services. OR B. Completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position such as Social Work or Behavioral Science. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR C. Possess specialized experience as described in A but less than one year and I have at least two years of graduate education as described in B but less than the required three years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet and the total is at least 100 (To compute the percentage divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Possess the specialized experience as described above and the education described in B. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
