Ensure that the Questionnaire is completed on Application Manager. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of social work theories principles techniques and resources is mandatory. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 24 months of experience in clinical social work assignments. Completion of the Air Force Social Work Internship Program may be substituted for 12 months of the specialized experience requirement. This experience demonstrates particular competencies of knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Must have specialized experience in professional social work that includes interviewing people to establish the nature and extent of their problems helping them workout plans for improving the situation providing assistance and services referring them to community resources and other organizations as indicated and assisting them to understand and modify their own patterns of behavior when appropriate. Except as stated above no other substitution of education for specialized experience is allowed. PROFESSIONAL SOCIAL WORK LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Professional Social Work Licensure Requirements For the GS12 and GS11 positions applicants must have professional unrestricted state licensure. For award and retention of cited military skills officers must possess valid and current licenses issued by a U.S. jurisdiction at a level allowing independent clinical social work practice. MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS: Officers must have correctable vision manual dexterity normal color perception and a minimum physical profile. RESTRICTIONS: No record of conviction by special or general courtsmartial or civilian courts of offenses. For use by AMEDD officers in MFA 73 no record of conviction by special or general courtsmartial or civilian courts of offenses listed in AR 2710 (Military Justice) Chapter 24 or otherwise required to register as a sexual offender under AR 2710 Chapter 24. SECURITY CLEARANCE AND DRUG TESTING: All positions require a security clearance and drug testing. Applicants must possess or be able to obtain a the appropriate clearance within one year of appointment. Applicants must pass a drug test prior to appointment. USE OF SELECTIVE FACTORS: The positions in this series require specialized knowledge skills and abilities as described in this qualification standard. For such positions jobspecific selective factors are required to ensure that applicants have the background necessary for successful performance in the position. For example the positions involve the kinds of social work that engage in professional casework in the specific sense that their first purpose is to provide direct social work services to individuals and families. The term casework is used in this particular sense to designate practice associated with service to individuals and families as distinguished from methods of problem solving and prevention associated with group practice work with community organizations administration consultation and research. Social work is oriented to professional practice and is primarily concerned with individual cases rather than with social problems as abstractions. Its knowledge and skills are applied to helping individuals and families find satisfactory ways of coping with their social situations and relationships. This concern is at the root and core of the historical values and professional identity of social work. REQUIREMENTS FOR MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATION: Candidates must possess and maintain a valid state motor vehicle operators license of the appropriate classification or kind. COVID19 VACCINATION REQUIREMENT: To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction which may be supplemented modified or vacated depending on the course of ongoing litigation the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Federal agencies may request information regarding the vaccination status of selected applicants for the purposes of implementing other workplace safety protocols such as protocols related to masking physical distancing testing travel and quarantine. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: 1. Masters in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is highly desired. Other mental health degrees and training as identified in AFI 44119 (Medical Quality Operations) are acceptable. Candidate must be a fully qualified Mental Health professional IAW AFI 44119. 2. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. 3. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. 4. Selective Placement Factor: Possess a current unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states the District of Columbia Puerto Rico or the U.S Virgin Islands. 5. Must be privileged for independent practice by the Credentials Committee at the employing Medical Treatment Facility. 6. A minimum of two (2) years within the past five (5) years in the independent practice of clinical social work is highly desired. 7. Position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) in accordance with local MDG policies. Must be obtained with 6 months of onboarding. 8. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. 9. Incumbent may share oncall duty during weeknights and/or weekends on a rotational basis as required consistent with other mental health professionals of the same specialty performing like duties. 10. This position may be identified as having regular contact with children requiring a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for the position. 11. Completion of appropriate clinical and administrative duties may involve after hours care or work in addition to regular duty hours. 12. Must be able to obtain and maintain privileging for the DOD/AFMS/ANGMS IAW DHA PM 602513 Vol 4 and DAFMAN 44119.
