Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Supervisory Social Worker (Family Advocacy): Degree: Masters degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes interviewing victims offenders children and/or family members regarding allegations of domestic violence child abuse or neglect providing crisis intervention or therapy to abusers or victims of abuse developing treatment plans to those involved in abuse and providing administrative or technical oversight to others. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. Licensure: A current active valid unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently offered by a U.S. State District of Columbia commonwealth territory or jurisdiction. Selective Placement Factor: This position requires 2 years of experience working in the field of child abuse and domestic abuse. This position is scheduled to transfer to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at a date to be determined in accordance with the provisions of Section 702 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 Public Law 114328. The Act directed the DHA to take responsibility for the administration (i.e. authority direction and control) of military treatment facilities beginning 1 Oct 18. Employees will become DoD employees upon transfer to the DHA. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:Ability to lead or supervisePsychometricsTherapy and Counseling Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS12).
