Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience if qualifying based on education your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirements for Social Worker (Family Advocacy): Degree: Masters degree (or higher degree) in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Experience required: To qualify based on your experience your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: in a family advocacy environment 1) Assessing incidents of abuse 2) providing counseling to abusers or victims and 3) developing treatment plans to those involved in abuse. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. Licensure: A current active valid unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently offered by a U.S. State District of Columbia commonwealth territory or jurisdiction is required. This position requires 2 years of experience working in the field of child abuse and domestic abuse. Additional Information: U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. This position may be scheduled to transfer to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) no later than 30 Sept 2021 in accordance with the provisions of Section 702 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 Public Law 114328. The Act directed the DHA to take responsibility for the administration (i.e. authority direction and control) of military treatment facilities beginning 1 Oct 18. Employees will become DoD employees upon transfer to the DHA.
