TimeInGrade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet timeingrade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS05. For a GS09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS07. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF50 that shows your timeingrade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF50 has an effective date within the past year it may not clearly demonstrate you possess oneyear timeingrade as required by the announcement. In this instance you must provide an additional SF50 that clearly demonstrates oneyear timeingrade. Individual Occupational Requirements (Basic Requirements): You MUST meet the Basic Requirements and the Minimum Qualifications to qualify for this Social Science Program Coordinator position. Education: Successfully completed a full four (4) year course of study at an accredited college or university leading to a bachelors degree or higher with a major study in behavioral science social science or related disciplines appropriate to this position. The number of semester hours required to constitute a major field of study is the amount specified by the college or university attended. If this number cannot be obtained 24 semester hours will be considered as equivalent to a major field of study. NOTE: Official/unofficial transcripts must be submitted with your application or your application will not be reviewed. Education cannot be credited without documentation. OR Combination of Education and Experience: Possess a combination of education and experience that provided me with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field of the position. (Transcript AND Details of your work history must be provided in your resume failure to supply sufficient details may result in not meeting the basic requirements for this position) OR Experience: Possess four (4) years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that I have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field of the position. (Details of your work history must be provided in your resume failure to supply sufficient details may result in not meeting the basic requirements for this position) In addition to meeting the above requirements you must also meet one of the following minimum requirements for this position. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: For a GS07: You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: Interpreting administrative policies developing and implementing local policies defining administrative requirements and/or providing advice to management and staff on related issues manage training requirements including mandatory and position specific training prepare reports letters correspondence and documents needed for data presentation provide technical and administrative supervision and provides advice counsel and instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. OR Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 1 year of graduatelevel education or superior academic achievement in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. NOTE: Transcripts (unofficial or official) must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation. OR Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education described above. For a GS09: You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: Interpreting administrative policies developing and implementing local policies defining administrative requirements and/or providing advice to management and staff on related issues Manages all training requirements including mandatory and position specific training Prepares reports letters correspondence and documents needed for data presentation Provides orientation and training to new staff Provides technical and administrative supervision and provides advice counsel and instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. OR Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a masters degree or masters or equivalent graduate degree related to the position. OR Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education above 1 year of graduate level education. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Communication Computer Skills Leadership Problem Solving Teaches Others Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religions spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 3540 hours of work per week. Parttime experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Regular and recurring work is mostly sedentary involving sitting at a desk although the position requires the ability to move from one geographic location of the facility to another. Some physical effort such as standing walking bending or prolonged sitting may be required.
