The Successful Applicant
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious/spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify at the CG07 level applicants must meet one of the following: 1. Experience: Applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience as described below equivalent to at least the grade 05 level or above in the Federal service Specialized Experience for the CG07: Specialized experience is experience in preparing and conducting preliminary analysis of data preparing tables and proofing documents and data results academic OR professional experience conducting research assignments requiring planning information assembly analysis and evaluation conclusions and report preparation using at least one of the following statistical packages: SAS STATA and/or R. OR 2. Education: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education or eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) with completion of a bachelors degree. Combinations of education and experience: Applicants must possess a combination of both education and specialized experience described above that together meet the qualification requirements for this position. Note: Prior to conversion to an Economist (0110 series) applicants must have a degree in economics that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics accounting or calculus.
