The Successful Applicant

Selective Placement Factor: Previous or current experience in conducting or overseeing research in the topic areas of violence against women victims of crime or other victimizationrelated topic areas around interpersonal violence intimate partner violence sexual violence and/or genderbased violence. Basic Entry Requirements: Degree: behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS11 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include: Conducts research in the topic areas of violence against women victims of crime or other victimizationrelated topic areas around interpersonal violence intimate partner violence sexual violence and/or genderbased violence. Coordinates and/or provides technical advice about violence against women victims of crime or other victimizationrelated topic areas around interpersonal violence intimate partner violence sexual violence and/or genderbased violence. Develops and/or conducts research design research data and research data analysis for studies involving violence against women victims of crime or other victimizationrelated topic areas around interpersonal violence intimate partner violence sexual violence and/or genderbased violence. utilizing knowledge of the social and behavioral sciences. Utilizes social science knowledge sufficient to extract significant findings from quantitative and qualitative research and present findings to senior scientists regarding violence against women victims of crime or other victimizationrelated topic areas around interpersonal violence intimate partner violence sexual violence and/or genderbased violence. Performs a variety of analytical and/or evaluative procedures such as factfinding and/or task analysis to identify and obtain a variety of information relevant to ongoing actions related to violence against women victims of crime or other victimizationrelated topic areas around interpersonal violence intimate partner violence sexual violence and/or genderbased violence.
