The Successful Applicant

Basic Entry Requirements: Degree in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates the acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Selective Placement Factor: Previous or current experience in conducting or overseeing research in the topic areas of child protection delinquency prevention youth justice systems school safety human trafficking and/or hate crimes. Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS13 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include: Conducts research and/or analyzes recent advancements in social science disciplines to ensure that the planning implementation and evaluation of criminal and juvenile justice research programs are based on current scientific knowledge and methodologies. Investigates and/or assesses the research needs of criminal and juvenile justice communities to ensure that the planning implementation and evaluation of criminal justice research programs are aligned with the fields requirements. Conducts and/or manages specialized studies or evaluations of programs related to crime prevention and youth justice or other related areas of practice.
