The Successful Applicant

To be considered for the position you must meet the following: BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must possess a degree in social work that fulfills all of the requirements for the masters degree in Social Work (MSW) in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education AND must have satisfactorily completed a related practicum. (NOTE: You MUST submit an official or unofficial transcript. Failure to provide the required documents will render you not eligible for consideration.) SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: In addition to meeting the basic entry level qualification requirements applicants must have the following: GS11: 3 years of progressively higherlevel graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR Specialized Experience: To qualify at the GS11 level you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS09 in Federal Service. Specialized experience involves performing the following types of duties: providing intake consultation with employees to assess nature and severity of the presenting problem assisting in shortterm counseling for problems that affect employees such as stress management mental illness substance abuse chemical dependency grief and loss domestic violence and assisting in providing instruction training consultation and/or advice on social workrelated questions and services for employees senior officials midlevel managers and firstline supervisors. OR Have a combination of education and experience. This experience must have equipped you with the qualifications to perform the major duties of this position as described above. GS12: Specialized Experience: To qualify at the GS12 level you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS11 in Federal Service. Specialized experience involves performing the following types of duties: providing intake consultation with employees to assess nature and severity of the presenting problem offering shortterm counseling for problems that affect employees such as stress management mental illness substance abuse chemical dependency grief and loss domestic violence providing consultative services to managers and supervisors concerning employees and administer instruction training consultation and/or advice on social workrelated questions and services for employees senior officials midlevel managers and firstline supervisors.
