The Successful Applicant

Basic Requirements: Degree: Social work or LPC. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the masters degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Experience: In addition to the Basic Education Requirements above your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Experience making independent decisions and recommendations for actions with serious impact on the life of the client Experience making differential diagnoses utilizing Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) across the full range of psychological issues and disorders and Experience planning and performing treatment for a wide range of psychological disorders and psychological aspects of physical disorders. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: Social Work Series 0185 (opm.gov) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
