Provide course descriptions as necessary. This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled in any of the job series listed below. Basic Requirement: GS0401:Degree: biological sciences agriculture natural resource management chemistry or related disciplines appropriate to the position.ORCombination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major as shown in A above plus appropriate experience or additional education.GS0101:Degree: behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position.ORCombination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.ORFour years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement you must also possess experience and/or directly related education in the amounts listed below. Specialized Experience Requirement: For the GS09: You must have one year specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade of GS7 in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: Assisted in recommending potential sites or areas for additional recreation use and planning development with suggested priorities for development Assisted in designing planning and monitoring new construction of wilderness trails parking areas trailhead facilities campgrounds picnic areas parking areas and access roads. Processed special use applications including ontheground investigations of site suitability and prepared associated environmental assessment reports.OR A masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. if relatedOR an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education (only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify applicants for this grade level). The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do the work. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity you must meet timeingrade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
