Individual Occupational Requirement: You must meet one of the following three Individual Occupational Requirement options for this position. If/when using education to qualify whether fully or partially you MUST provide transcript(s) at the time of application that state(s) a degree was conferred in the appropriate field. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable however display copies of degrees or course listings are not adequate and do not provide the information needed to verify that you have the basic education requirement. A bachelors or higher degree that included a major field of study in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to this position. OR At least four (4) years of appropriate experience in a position that demonstrates you have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR A combination of education and experience that provided you with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that you possess the knowledge skills and abilities required to perform work in the occupation and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4year course of study with a major in the appropriate field. In addition to courses in the major and related fields a typical college degree would have included courses that involved analysis writing critical thinking research etc. These courses would have provided you with skills and abilities sufficient to perform progressively more responsible work in the occupation. Therefore creditable experience should have demonstrated similarly appropriate skills or abilities needed to perform the work of the occupation. In addition to meeting one of the Individual Occupational Requirement options above you must also meet one of the following minimum qualification requirements for the GS7 level: GS7 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in Federal service (GS5) that has provided the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position. The specialized experience requirement for this position is experience working in a whole health or wellness coach program that included providing interventions that promote health and wellness. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. OR GS7 EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: One year of graduatelevel education leading to a degree in behavioral or social science or a related discipline appropriate to the position and that provided the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Parttime graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of fulltime study at the school attended. OR GS7 COMBINATION: A combination of specialized experience and graduatelevel education as described above that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position. Experience must be detailed in your resume and transcripts (official or unofficial) are required. OR GS7 SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT: Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the baccalaureate level in the qualifying curriculum detailed above is fully qualifying. To qualify for SAA applicants must have completed all the requirements for a bachelors degree in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled and meet one of the following. Rank in the upper onethird of your class in the college university or major subdivision. A gradepoint average of B (a GPA of 95 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last two years of undergraduate study. A grade point average of B (a GPA of 45 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all courses in your major field of study or those courses in your major completed in the last two years of undergraduate study. Membership in a national honor society (other than freshman honor societies) recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. In addition to meeting one of the Individual Occupational Requirement options above you must also meet one of the following minimum qualification requirements for the GS9 level: GS9 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in Federal service (GS7) that has provided the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position. The specialized experience requirement for this position is experience providing care and intervention through coaching and education in whole health to promote health and wellness. Examples of specialized experience include assisting in determining patient goals assessing patient progress adjusting plans as necessary etc. OR GS9 EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: You may substitute specialized experience with education if you have at least two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a masters degree or a masters or equivalent graduate degree in a behavioral or social science or related discipline appropriate to the position. This education must have been obtained at an accredited college or university. OR GS9 COMBINATION: A combination of education and experience may also be qualifying if you have an equivalent combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience as described above which meets the total experience requirements for this grade level. NOTE: Your experience must be documented in your resume and transcripts are required. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Communication Leadership Technical Competence IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 3540 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Parttime experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
