The Successful Applicant

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Conducting screenings assessments and counseling for atrisk clients utilizing concepts principles procedures and practices relating to substance use disorders 2) Teaching therapeutic techniques in prevention and intervention to assist clients in the substance abuse recovery process 3) Analyzing and evaluating clients biopsychosocial history to develop workable treatment plans and 4) Communicating orally to present recommendations at higher level briefings. This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Applicant must possess a State / U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an Independent Practitioner with one of the following: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Psychologist.NOTE: A copy of your certificate MUST be submitted with your resume. Applicants must meet all of the following qualifications as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.7A:(1) State or U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner.(2) When the State or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination candidates for privileging must have achieved a passing score on that examination.(3) Possess at least a masters degree in one of following clinical fields: (a) Marriage and Family Therapy from a program accredited by COAMFTE or an equivalent degree. (b) Social Work from an accredited school or an equivalent degree. (c) Psychology from a doctoral program approved by APA or an equivalent degree. (4) Must have engaged in 2 years that includes at least 2000 hours fulltime postmasters supervised clinical experience.
