The Successful Applicant
To qualify for this position your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Degree: Must fulfill all of the requirements for the masters degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Masters degree with practicum: Applicants who complete all of the requirements for a masters degree in social work that included a practicum are eligible for GS9. Licensure: Must possess and maintain a current State LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) license. In addition to the Basic Requirements you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Exercise professional use of variety of casework skills in developing comprehensive psychosocial assessments that examine the current situation as well as relevant biopsychosocial and environmental factors of patients and their families. Formulates appropriate discharge plans participates in continuing education and serves as a consultant and educator to the interdisciplinary team regarding biopsychosocial components of illness disability and hospitalization among others. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Must have the ability to communicate fluently in the Navajo language. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Candidate must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS07 grade level to qualify for the GS09 grade level. Examples of the type of specialized experience that are creditable include: provides basic assessment diagnose and treat a range of psychiatric illnesses identifying ad assess psychosocial functioning understand and respond to medical treatment provide therapeutic intervention to improve wellness provide intensive case management services to include liaison consultation and teaching relationships to multidisciplinary team provide referral services and counseling to all age groups. Candidates must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS09 grade level to qualify for the GS11 grade level. Examples of the type of specialized experience that are creditable include: collaborate with other health professionals to assess client needs refer patients to community resources provide individual or group counseling coordinate care with expert diagnostic and treatment consultation to medical providers assess outpatient needs and patient discharge planning provide therapy to all age groups utilizing a variety of accepted treatment techniques develop treatment plans provide interventions surrounding drug alcohol cooccurring disorders and crisis intervention to potentially lifethreatening emergencies. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
