Other Conditions of Employment: At a minimum qualification requirements stipulated by the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM) for the 0185 occupational series must be met. Selective Placement Factors: Possess a current unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states the District of Columbia Puerto Rico or the U.S Virgin Islands. This position has been identified as having regular contact with children. IAW Public Law 101647 Section 231 and Public Law 102190 Section 1094. A FBI fingerprint and State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) Check will be completed on any person selected for this position. Must have the following minimum qualifications IAW DOD directives: (a) In order to meet Military Treatment Facility (MTF) credentialing and privileging competency requirements must have two years of experience working in the field of child abuse and domestic abuse as an independent Licensed Clinical Social Worker or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Must maintain independent active clinical privileges for the duration of employment. (b) Government civilian providers must meet all applicable credentialing requirements IAW MTF guidelines and be fully qualified to perform within the scope of their practice. (c) Must possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. (d) In order to meet MTF credentialing and privileging currency requirements must have actively practiced as an independent Licensed Clinical Social Worker or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist within the past two years. In order to qualify you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Individual Occupational Requirements for 0185 series and Group Standard for Professional Scientific Positions. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Individual Occupational Requirements Basic Requirements Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the masters degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of professional social work practices principles theories and administrative requirements to be able to apply them in clinical and operational unit settings. Knowledge of professional evidencebased treatments for a full range of psychiatric disorders to plan and provide treatment to patients. Skill in oral and written communication to include maintaining proper documentation of patient treatment and follow up. FEDERAL TIMEINGRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable timeingrade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS11 level is required to meet the timeingrade requirements for the GS12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet timeingrade requirements. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge skills abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of professional social work practices principles theories and administrative requirements to be able to apply them in clinical and operational unit settings. 2. Knowledge of professional evidencebased treatments for a full range of psychiatric disorders to plan and provide treatment to patients. 3. Knowledge of administration scoring and interpretation of select psychological and psychosocial measures to properly assess patients and familys needs. Sophisticated understanding of behavioral risk management and ability to engage appropriate protections as needed when risk of harm to the patient or others is present. 4. Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistic Manual of Mental Disorders to evaluate psychiatric disorders and apply professional diagnostic skills. 5. Skill in oral and written communication to include maintaining proper documentation of patient treatment and follow up. 6. Ability to provide guidance and consultation services to medical professionals and military leaders work well with others in a team approach and facilitate referrals to community or statebased human service agencies as needed e.g. to Protective Services or financial aid organizations. PARTTIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or parttime work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
